MELISSA AYLOTT
THORPE

BACKGROUND

I was born and raised in Southend on sea, where I grew up in Southchurch Village (Beautfort Street), with my mum, dad and 2 brothers. I went to school in Hamstel infant and Junior school and joined the King Edmund School.

I later moved to South Essex College to studding Sports BTech and remained to join the University of Essex to study sport science with the intention of becoming a P.E teacher.

Alongside my studies I worked within H.R. and despite completing my Degree I decided that I enjoyed working with people and helping them to progress in the workplace that I continues on this path. I am now taking a second degree, a business degree, which I hope to complete in the next 2 years.

My passion for people stems from my working with the public through my work with Southend Council, Southend Hospital, local Schools including shoebury, Southchurch High, Bournes Green, Thorpe Green Ways and Cecil and many local charities.

As part of my role in my organisation I am responsible for volunteering committee which helps in raising awareness and funding for a number of charities and organisations.

I look forward to helping and supporting the people of my home city in any way I can, whether that is just a chat or helping solve a problem a resident is struggling with.

I am thrilled to represent Thorpe and hope I can give back to the city that has done so much for me.
